ULTRALUX Marine & Industrial Services
Carlos Bellati, Italian immigrant from Genoa, founded LA CARENA in 1950 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His team carried out cleaning, coating and grinding services for commercial vessels. Later on he became a Ship Owner and offered his services in the Argentine inland water market.
Twenty years later, his son Juan Carlos founded ULTRALUX NDT, providing quality controls by Non Destructive Tests. His technicians, qualified according to international standards, carry out hull and machinery inspections on commercial vessels as well as offshore drilling platforms.
In third generation, Sergio Bellati, and his father Juan Carlos, associated with Rodolfo Galloni, former Lloyd’ Register marine Surveyor, are today leading ULTRALUX Marine & Industrial Services. Their team of engineers and technicians offer all kind of consultancy services to the marine industry.
We performed NDT and inspections under ABS`s rules in drilling rigs and welding seams, during the repair of the Key Manhattan Rig of Santa Fe International Services and NDT under DNV`s rules at the LABRADOR I rig of Global Marine International.
Since the end of 1993, with the creation of the IACS, we have been doing Special Surveys, Close-Up Surveys, CAP and CAS surveys, to all type of vessels in accordance of the rules and procedures of IACS.
Also, Ultralux has done all NDT and inspections, at McGregor cargo cranes maintenance and repairs, of different vessels under GL`s and McGregor`s rules.
Ultralux also performed all NDT and inspections required by the Germanischer Lloyds rules during the buildings of new container ships St. Pauli and St. Georg at SANYM Shipyard for Ferrostal Germany.
